Fitness became something I was passionate about after having my daughter in 2009. I went from being skinny and able to eat whatever I wanted without gaining a pound to overweight and unhappy with how I looked and felt. During my pregnancy I did minimal exercise and ate anything I wanted......A LOT of anything I wanted! As a pregnant woman we are often told to eat for 2, but I was probably eating for at least 4.
After giving birth to my beautiful daughter, I struggled with losing the baby weight and the extra I had packed on. I was unhappy with how I felt and looked and knew I was going to have to make some big changes if I ever wanted to feel confident in a bikini again.
After many failed attempts at dieting....I probably tried them all, I decided to hire a personal trainer to help me reach my goals, that ended up being the start of my love for fitness. I could feel and see myself changing and I wanted to help others feel great about themselves too.
A few years after getting into shape I got my NASM Personal Training Certification and Nutrition Certification and went on to teach the NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) to students that were seeking to become Personal Trainers. I also competed in NPC Figure Competitions.
I have continued to further my education and work on bettering myself through the years. I now have a Keto Nutrition Certification in addition to my NASM Nutrition Certification.
As a mom and owner of 2 businesses, I definitely understand how life can get in the way of our fitness goals, but I have also learned that you must make yourself a priority so you can be your best for yourself and others.
